About Us

The primary mission of the POF Central Library is to foster educational and cultural engagement, enhancing literacy standards and literary activities in Wah Cantt. We strive to be a center for learning, research, and intellectual growth for the entire community.

Library History

The POF Central Library was established in 1984 with a building covering 37,000 sq. ft., constructed at a cost of Rs. five million. Lt. Gen (R) Talat Masood HI(M), SBt, then Chairman of the POF Board, inaugurated the library on 9th October 1984. Its foundation stone was laid on 18th July 1982 by the late Abdul Malik, Ex-FAOF, who played a crucial role in its inception, construction, and establishment. His contributions to the library's creation are immortalized, and we honor his memory with deep respect.

The library was created with the objective of promoting educational and cultural activities, advancing literary standards, and raising the literacy rate in Wah Cantt. It also aims to enhance technical skills, provide recreational outlets, and foster a healthy environment to relieve the stress of POF employees working in an industrial setting. Moreover, the library supports researchers, scholars, and educationists, offering its resources without any membership discrimination, in the greater interest of the state and nation.

Our doors are open to all those seeking knowledge, research opportunities, and a place to grow intellectually and culturally.
